Website analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 through Google Tag Manager to understand aggregate website traffic, such as visited pages, approximate location, device type and referral source. Where permitted by the regional policy and your preferences, it sets cookies that recognise repeat visits. Advertising measurement helps evaluate enquiries from our campaigns; it has a separate preference. This pilot does not use remarketing or personalized advertising.
In the EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google tags load with denied storage before your choice, after rejection or when you close the interface without accepting. Advanced Consent Mode permits limited cookieless measurement and conversion pings; Google may use these for modeling. This is not normal cookie-based analytics or consent inferred from inactivity. Cookieless does not mean that no personal-data processing occurs. We disable Google Signals and user-provided data collection; typed form content is not measurement input.
How visitors use the site
We use PostHog to understand how visitors use this website: the pages opened, how long each stays open and how far it is scrolled, the links and buttons clicked, whether a contact detail was copied (not the copied text), whether the contact form was started and delivered, and approximate location worked out from the IP address. PostHog is subject to the same Analytics preference. It may use pseudonymous browser identifiers to link visits; this is not anonymous data. Form text and attributes are masked or excluded from automatic collection. Session replay is disabled for this pilot, and enquiry contents are not analytics properties.
Cookieless measurement
We also use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights, run by the platform that hosts this website. They record which pages are opened, which country a visit came from, and how quickly pages load on real devices. These tools follow the Analytics preference even though they are cookieless. Vercel Web Analytics uses a request-derived visitor hash with a limited lifespan; cookieless does not mean that no processing occurs. Query strings and fragments are removed from the URLs we send to these tools.
The Zhikal guide
The “Ask Zhikal” guide on every page answers questions with an AI model, from what this website publishes. Questions you type, with the conversation so far, are sent to OpenAI to write the answer, with a one-way code made from your network address that helps prevent abuse. We ask OpenAI not to store the conversation, and OpenAI does not use it to train its models; it may keep it for up to 30 days to detect misuse. We keep no conversation copy in our analytics. Where Analytics is permitted, our logs record only the outcome, language and timing. Our permitted analytics count how the guide is used: when it is opened, how many questions a visitor asks, which of the site's topics each one matched, how it was answered and which suggestions or links were followed, never the words themselves. Please do not enter personal details in the guide.
Reading the site in your language
The English pages may offer to show themselves in the language read where you are. To choose it, our server reads the country Vercel's network infers from your connection, only for that request; the country is neither returned to your browser nor kept. Where the network gives no country, your browser's time zone stands in; it is read in your browser and never sent. While the offer is shown, and as you read once you accept, the page's own text on your screen (never what you type into a form or the guide) is sent to OpenAI to be translated, so the offer is written in your language and accepting changes the page at once, with the same one-way code that prevents abuse, and the translations are kept on our servers and in your browser so the next reader of that language gets them at once. Your browser remembers the language you chose, or that you declined, until you change it. Where Analytics is permitted, we count offers, answers and switches by the language's code only.
What we never collect
This website has no accounts and no login. We record that a visitor opened an email, phone or download link or sent an enquiry, never who they are or what they wrote. What you type into the contact form goes to our inbox only. No name, message, address or phone number is ever sent to an analytics service, and questions typed into the guide go to OpenAI only to be answered.
Regional choices
Our hosting platform determines country for policy selection; we do not store your IP address as a marketing identifier for this purpose. In the EEA, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Canada, UAE and unknown locations, normal optional tracking starts off and requires your choice. Limited Google pings are permitted in the EEA, UK and Switzerland even without that choice. In Afghanistan and the United States it starts on under our notice-and-opt-out policy. This is our implementation policy, not a guarantee of legal compliance.
Use Privacy settings in the footer to change Analytics and Advertising measurement separately. A versioned preference cookie remembers your choice for 180 days and is scoped to the applicable regional group. Withdrawing an enabled category reloads the page to stop normal tracking; limited Google pings can continue in the EEA, UK and Switzerland. Unsaved form text may be lost. Global Privacy Control stops all optional measurement and cannot be overridden by a stored approval. Business enquiries work regardless of these choices. Earlier enquiries are not replayed into analytics after approval. Withdrawal stops future normal collection, not data already sent; deletion requests can be sent to the contact below.
Who processes it
Google processes analytics information on our behalf. Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services in the Google partner-sites privacy notice. PostHog processes analytics information on our behalf in the United States, as described in the PostHog privacy policy. OpenAI processes the guide's questions on our behalf, as described in OpenAI's business privacy commitments.
